Wildlife and Hunting: Abundant wildlife exists along the Republican river, only one mile south of Superior. Canoeing and tubing on the river are popular activities. Hunting is excellent for deer, quail, pheasants, wild turkey, ducks, geese and rabbits. There are 2,200 acres of public hunting area available around the Lovewell Lake reservoir. The area offers outstanding opportunities to view and photograph deer, bald eagles, prairie dogs, and migratory birds, ducks and geese. If you are in search of something more challenging and a bit on the wild side, Cadams Hunt Club has over 5000 acres available for wild bird hunts. | |
Fishing: Lovewell Lake State Park is best known for its exceptional walleye fishing, as well as white bass, channel and flathead catfish.

Boating: Lovewell Lake State Park, seven miles south of Superior, includes a marina, boat ramps, camping with electrical hook-ups, picnic shelters, play ground, trailer park, and cabins. A camping cabin (maximum eight adults) is available for rent year round. 785-753-4971 |

Parks: Superior's City Park has a swimming pool, children's playground and picnic shelters.
Lincoln Park, near the west edge of town, has free camping hookups, a horseshoe pitching area, sand volleyball, picnic shelters and a children's playground. The track field and tennis courts are nearby. Many events of the Lady Vestey Festival and the July 4th Celebration are held in Lincoln Park.
Senior Center:Weekly socials are held at the Vestey Center for those age 60 and up. Other services include home delivered meals, the Handi Bus wheelchair accessible transportation, homemakers services, handyman services, Senior meals program, and housing. |
